Alternative Fuels Summit
Kick the Oil Habit at the Alternative Fuels Summit hosted by Unifried (the Biofuel Bus), and Mercey Hot Springs on April 8, 9 & 10, 2005. Workshops include Brewing Biodiesel, SVO (collecting, selecting, filtering & using), an Engine Conversion, a Forum on Organizing an Alternative Energy Co-op, Grant Writing for Environmental Causes, and more. Other events and exhibits include Permaculture & Sustainable Living Demonstrations, tours of Mercey Hot Springs off-the-grid energy systems, open-mike night at the Friday evening community campfire, and live music on Saturday night. Cost is $100 and includes admission to all workshops & exhibits & events, camping/RV space, and two tickets for soaking.

A joint effort of the California Federation of Women's Clubs, De Anza District and the Kay Ceniceros Community Center.  Calling together the communities of the 18 Woman's Clubs to attend a fact and fun filled day.  Featuring displays and presentations on Safety, Crime Prevention and Independence thru Mobility, by Riverside Co. Sheriff's Dept. and Child Fingerprinting & Digital pictures sponsored by Senator Battin's office.  Smokey Bear will be on hand as well.  Other participating organizations to include: the CARE Team, Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV), Safe Alternatives for Everyone (SAFE), County Emergency Services (OES),  AARP Driver Safety, Officer Byrd and much much more!
